It’s our last post, and our last Winner’s Circle drawing of 2011! The year has flown by for us, and we’re looking forward to an amazing 2012, with new product debuts and plenty of special themed kits and looks, like this year’s Valentine’s collection, the metallic prismatics, the full-face Halloween kits, and the two Winter Holiday kits. Our inventor and creative director, Irina Iosilevich, is forever at work coming up with new designs and new color combinations influenced by what’s coming down the runways during Fashion Weeks, the fine arts, photography, textiles, and so many other sources of inspiration. She truly embodies the “creative” in her title!
If you missed Wednesday’s blog (we know, it’s a vacation week!), we showed three great celebrity looks for New Year’s Eve for those of you who were not able to get your Winter Holiday Kits in time, or wanted something more traditional than the photorealistic looks from the mysteriously lacy Winter’s Veil Variety Kit or the almost Pucci-esque Diamonds on Parade Variety Kit.
Lea Michele: The Glee actress wore an “alternative” smokey eye comprised of beige-y, cool brown in shades lighter than her deep brown eye color, breaking the traditional look where the colors are as dark as or darker than the iris. It allows you to appreciate her soulful brown eyes, beautifully arched brows and lush lashes, yet is still very sexy and smokey.
Use ColorOn’s Desert Sands, a sandy wash of cool beige and a deeper doe brown, from the Painted Desert Variety Kit to get the same look for brown eyes; the other four colors in the kit may be used on brown, hazel or blue eyes for the same lightly smoked look. Cactus Flower will look beautiful with any eye color. Try Plum Passion to bring out hazel or green eyes, Desert Sands to make blue eyes pop, and Dusky Twilight or Amazon as alternatives for hazel-to-brown eyes.
Jessica Biel: Justin Tmberlake’s significant other chose to focus on her gorgeous pout by painting it a show-stopping shade of vivid red, with very precise lines and a touch of shine. With this kind of statement lip, the rest of her face was lightly enhanced with barely-there foundation and lightly flushed cheeks.
As for the eyes, we have groomed but not heavily powdered-or-penciled brows, a single coat of mascara, and a subtle gold eye shadow from lash line to crease, with a small amount drawn as well under the outer corners of the lower lash line. You can get the same look with Holiday Riches, a gradient wash of golden glitter shadows, from pale to pure 14-Karat WOW, from ColorOn’s 2010 Eye Envy Tinsel Holiday Variety Kit, using some of the creamy mineral makeup left on the cover sheet to line under the lower lashes with a thin eyeliner brush.
That’s two beautifully sophisticated looks, one accenting the eyes, the other the lips. Now, what if you’re not going on a major date (and that can be with a spouse, a potential spouse, spouse material, or just a FWB) or to a swank party? Well, then you turn to one 2011’s best-selling female vocalists, and a woman know for making makeup FUN.
Katy Perry: Normally, Mrs. Russell Brand can be counted on for something so over the top it often qualifies for Halloween and/or Drag Queen makeup, but since her latest haircut and color metamorphosis, she looks delicately beautiful. And Katy’s no slouch when it comes to changing her makeup to match her haircolor. Her brows are the right color (a few shades darker than her hair), nicely groomed and filled in, and she’s chosen a shimmery gold eye shadow with rosy undertones, a swipe of shimmery grey eyeliner, and her trademark multiple coats of mascara.
You can get the same eye look with our Scarlet Princess instant eye shadow, which is only available in the Custom Kits. It’s a combination of shining gold and shimmering bronze shadows with an anthracite eyeliner.
And finally, our last eVIP of the year to be pulled at random into the Winners Circle for a free 10-application Custom Kit is Heidi Ibarra of Houston, Texas. She’ll be watching her mailbox next to see what beautiful surprise we send her. As always, we encourage our Winners Circle members to post their experiences on our Facebook Fan Page once they’ve had time to play with their new makeup, so that all of you get the benefit of real feedback on the products.
We’ll be back next year, ColorOn fans. Thank you for all your support and great comments on our Facebook wall, your follows on Twitter, and your eVIP memberships. Wishing you a very Happy New Year from everyone here at ColorOn…Professional.
